Australian Visa Process for Conferences
All travellers to Australia must have a valid visa before boarding their plane. Generally travellers to Australia cannot apply for a visa on arrival.
There are currently two possible visa options for adult event participants and the appropriate visa to apply for will depend on your country of passport. You will need to apply for either an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) or a visa. This is explained on the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship website at Immigration and Citizenship
ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORITY
Travellers holding certain passports may apply for an ETA which will let you spend up to three months in Australia. It is possible to arrange an ETA via the Internet at the Electronic Travel Authority site. You are only eligible to apply for an ETA while you are outside Australia and hold one of the listed ETA-eligible passports.
VISA
If you do not meet the criteria for an ETA, then you should contact your nearest Australian visa office for further options. The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship website is at http://www.immi.gov.au/. When applying for a visa to visit Australia to participate in e-Forensics 2009, you will require a "letter of invitation" which we will provide to you upon registration. In order to provide that, we will need the following information.

. Passport number
. Country of Passport
. Passport expiry date
. Date of Birth
